Eaton, a leader in intelligent power management, has officially opened its expanded electrical manufacturing facility in Puducherry. The newly enlarged facility spans 120,000 square feet, with a cutting-edge 100,000 square foot production area dedicated to Power Distribution products and 20,000 square feet for utilities and support infrastructure. This expansion marks a significant step in Eaton’s push for operational excellence, increased localization, and community involvement. Eaton Chairman and CEO, Craig Arnold, led the facility’s inauguration.
The expanded facility increases Eaton’s manufacturing presence in Puducherry to over 260,000 square feet, with plans to double production capacity for key Power Distribution products like Air Circuit Breakers (ACBs), Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs), and Fuses. These products are crucial for sectors such as Data Centers, Industrial, Infrastructure, and Utilities.
Syed Sajjadh Ali, Managing Director of Eaton’s Electrical Sector in India, emphasized the company’s focus on innovation and operational excellence, noting that this new facility will help meet growing demand for localized products in high-growth sectors. With the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies and optimized manufacturing processes, the expansion ensures high-quality, efficient production and improved customer satisfaction.
The facility also includes a centralized warehouse for Power Distribution products and a newly established R&D center to improve operational efficiency and reduce delivery times across India. This expansion aligns with Eaton’s commitment to sustainable growth in India under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. Over the next three years, the company plans to create more than 300 new jobs, further cementing India’s role as a key manufacturing hub.
