On May 10, 2025, Eastman Auto & Power Ltd entered into a ₹50 crore annual battery supply agreement with Vande Bharat E-Vehicles. The signing ceremony took place in New Delhi, marking a strategic partnership to support India’s growing electric mobility sector.
Under the agreement, Eastman will supply lithium-ion batteries to power Vande Bharat’s electric three-wheelers, focusing on the commercial segment, including E-Rickshaws used by drivers and fleet operators across the country. This move aims to make clean transportation more viable and affordable for everyday users.
Vande Bharat E-Vehicles, operated by Sahanianand E-Vehicles Pvt Ltd manufactures electric three-wheelers including passenger rickshaws, utility carts, and loaders tailored for Indian roads and usage conditions. The company supports national initiatives like “Atmanirbhar Bharat” and “Make in India” by focusing on locally manufactured components and sustainable mobility solutions.
