BERICAP, a global plastic and aluminium closures specialist, has announced its plan to open a dedicated captive IT centre in India. The new IT centre will be aimed at streamlining IT services and driving digital transformation within the BERICAP group.
BERICAP is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of plastic and aluminium closures with 29 manufacturing plants across the world serving customers in over 100 countries. In India, BERICAP made its first successful trial with Pepsico in 2001 and entered the Indian market in collaboration with ESSEL Group in 2001 in Mumbai.
BERICAP India serves major customers in India like Hindustan Coke Cola, Pepsi, Castrol, Amul, Tidewater, Adama, Valvoline and Shell India as well as exports to the Middle East. “This decision stems from a thorough analysis of market trends, cost-effectiveness, and talent availability, all of which point to India as an ideal destination for our captive centre,” said Rakesh Bhatia, CEO, of BERICAP India Pvt. Ltd.

In 2007, BERICAP established its own new facility in Talegaon, Pune which is a 100% subsidiary of BERICAP Holding GmbH. Starting with 12 Injection Moulding machines, the state-of-the-art BERICAP India plant today houses 55 Injection Moulding machines, 25 Assembly Machines and 5 Printing Machines. The BERICAP India team expanded from 25 to 250 including contract employees.
