The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade or DPIIT, part of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is poised to unveil a revolutionary digital platform aimed at fortifying India’s startup ecosystem. This initiative, known as the Bharat Startup Knowledge Access Registry (BHASKAR), is a critical component of the Startup India program. BHASKAR is designed to centralize and streamline the interaction among various key players within the entrepreneurial landscape, encompassing startups, investors, mentors, service providers, and government entities.

This ambitious project aligns seamlessly with the Government of India’s vision to position India as a global frontrunner in innovation and entrepreneurship, further underscoring the nation’s commitment to advancing the startup movement. With over 146,000 DPIIT-recognized startups making India one of the most vibrant startup hubs worldwide, BHASKAR is set to harness this burgeoning potential by offering a comprehensive, all-in-one digital platform.

This platform is intended to tackle the challenges faced by entrepreneurs and investors by providing a centralized registry that facilitates access to a vast range of resources, tools, and knowledge, thereby supporting the entrepreneurial journey from concept to execution. BHASKAR aims to cultivate a thriving environment for networking, collaboration, and growth within the startup ecosystem. By issuing personalized BHASKAR IDs to each stakeholder, the platform will enhance interaction, improve searchability, and enable efficient discovery of pertinent opportunities and partnerships.

The core objective of BHASKAR is to establish the world’s largest digital registry for startup ecosystem stakeholders. To accomplish this, the platform will offer several key functionalities. BHASKAR will bridge the gaps between startups, investors, mentors, and other stakeholders, facilitating seamless interactions across various sectors. By aggregating essential resources, the platform will provide startups with immediate access to critical tools and insights, fostering quicker decision-making and more efficient scaling.

Each stakeholder will receive a unique BHASKAR ID, ensuring tailored interactions and customized experiences on the platform. The platform will feature robust search capabilities, enabling users to easily find relevant resources, collaborators, and opportunities, which will streamline decision-making and actions. BHASKAR will serve as a catalyst for bolstering India’s international reputation as an innovation hub, facilitating more accessible cross-border collaborations for startups and investors.

The introduction of BHASKAR represents a major advancement in the government’s ongoing efforts to stimulate innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation. The platform is envisioned as a central nexus where startups, investors, service providers, and government bodies can converge to collaborate, exchange ideas, and accelerate growth. By providing streamlined access to knowledge and resources, BHASKAR is set to unlock the full potential of India’s startup ecosystem, propelling the nation towards becoming a global leader in entrepreneurship.

As India’s startup landscape continues to expand, BHASKAR will be instrumental in enhancing the country’s standing on the global stage. The platform promises to foster a collaborative culture, helping startups navigate challenges and develop innovative solutions for future needs. With BHASKAR’s launch, the Government of India reaffirms its dedication to establishing India as a leader in global innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development.

The platform, scheduled for launch tomorrow, is anticipated to be a transformative force in India’s innovation ecosystem, promising to redefine the startup landscape and create a more connected, efficient, and collaborative environment for entrepreneurs.
