The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has joined forces with HCLSoftware, a leading provider of software solutions, to accelerate India’s manufacturing startup sector. Announced at Vanijya Bhawan, New Delhi, this partnership forms part of DPIIT’s Manufacturing Incubation Initiative, aiming to foster an environment where corporations play a critical role in supporting manufacturing startups. Under the Startup India initiative, DPIIT has signed over 80 MoUs with industry leaders to date.
Startups will gain access to HCL’s SYNC program, providing them with global market reach to showcase their innovations to an international audience. This partnership represents a major milestone in strengthening India’s manufacturing capabilities and advancing its goal of becoming a national production hub.
The initiative’s key objectives include promoting the creation of Indian intellectual property, equipping startups to deliver globally competitive products, and building a cohesive manufacturing network with interconnected startups and suppliers to support the entire manufacturing value chain.
DPIIT Joint Secretary Sanjiv Singh emphasized that HCLSoftware’s expertise is integral to creating a sustainable manufacturing ecosystem, aligning with DPIIT’s vision to promote Indian manufacturing on a global scale. Mr. Singh highlighted the role of the Startup India program in nurturing product startups and reaffirmed DPIIT’s dedication to the ‘Make in India’ initiative.
Director of Startup India, Dr Sumeet K. Jarangal, noted that the primary goal is to empower startups with cutting-edge technologies and international market access. Dr. Jarangal stressed HCLSoftware’s commitment to supporting every phase of startup development—from design to sales—advancing the growth of Indian manufacturing.
