The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry has entered into a strategic partnership with JK Cement, a prominent cement manufacturer, to support product startups, innovators, and entrepreneurs. The collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aims to advance India’s manufacturing ecosystem and position the country as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship.
Under the initiative, JK Cement will provide startups with access to advanced infrastructure, state-of-the-art manufacturing and research facilities, mentorship programs, pilot project opportunities, and academic resources. Joint Secretary of DPIIT, Sanjiv Singh, described the MoU as a forward-looking initiative to foster a supportive environment for startups and innovators. He added, “This collaboration will empower budding entrepreneurs to scale their ventures, turning innovative ideas into impactful solutions, and furthering India’s position as a global leader in manufacturing and innovation.”
Dr Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director of Startup India, highlighted the initiative’s goal to accelerate entrepreneurship, create viable solutions, and drive sustainable development. The program aims to support at least 10 startups and entrepreneurs in the coming year.
