Global logistics leader DP World and green hydrogen and ammonia producer AM Green, part of the Greenko Group, have joined forces to establish advanced logistics and storage infrastructure for green fuel. The partnership aims to handle the production and export of 2 million tonnes of green fuel annually, comprising 1 million tonnes of green ammonia and 1 million tonnes of green methanol.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU), signed in December, outlines plans to develop port and bunkering infrastructure to support the export and distribution of green fuels. This includes facilities at AM Green’s Net-Zero Industrial Clusters in India and bunkering hubs in Dubai, India, and Southeast Asia.

AM Green is actively developing projects across India to produce green ammonia, hydrogen, biofuels, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), and other renewable energy-based products. Powered by solar, wind, and hydropower, the company targets a renewable fuel production capacity of 5 million tonnes per year within the next five years. A significant milestone is the ongoing development of a 1 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) green ammonia facility in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.

Mahesh Kolli, Founder of Greenko Group and AM Green, emphasized the collaboration’s role in bolstering the global green supply chain and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon economy. With increasing global efforts to decarbonize maritime activities, the partnership will create terminal infrastructure across the European Union, Far East, and UAE, catering to the rising demand for sustainable shipping solutions.

Yuvraj Narayan, Group Deputy CEO and CFO of DP World, highlighted the synergy between the two companies, aiming to leverage logistics and infrastructure expertise to support the worldwide distribution of green fuels, advancing sustainability goals and fostering a low-carbon future.

DP World is a leading global logistics company specializing in ports and terminals, supply chain management, and trade-related services. With operations spanning across continents, the company plays a crucial role in connecting and facilitating global trade.

DP World focuses on enhancing its logistics infrastructure and services to support international trade and foster economic growth. Its efforts include investments in cutting-edge technology, automation, and sustainable solutions to optimize port operations, improve efficiencies, and reduce the environmental impact of logistics. As part of its strategy to contribute to global sustainability goals, DP World is expanding its capabilities to support the clean fuel supply chain, particularly focusing on green ammonia, methanol, and other sustainable fuels.

AM Green, a subsidiary of the Greenko Group, is a prominent player in the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and sustainable fuels. The company focuses on leveraging renewable energy sources, including solar, wind, and hydroelectric power, to produce low-carbon alternatives to conventional fuels.

AM Green is developing multiple large-scale projects in India aimed at creating a sustainable energy future by manufacturing green ammonia, green hydrogen, biofuels, and other clean energy products. With a target of achieving a 5 million-tonne per annum production capacity over the next five years, AM Green is positioning itself as a key player in the global green fuel market. Its collaboration with DP World is central to its efforts to build robust infrastructure and global supply chains for exporting clean fuels, contributing to the ongoing transition to a low-carbon economy.
