Dixon Technologies has announced a strategic partnership with China-based Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing Co Ltd to establish a joint venture focused on producing high-precision components for electronic devices such as laptops, mobile phones, IoT equipment, and automotive electronics. The collaboration marks a significant step in Dixon’s efforts to deepen its backward integration and expand its manufacturing capabilities within India.

As per a regulatory filing, Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd will hold a 74% majority stake in the proposed joint venture, while Chongqing Yuhai will own the remaining 26%. The JV will operate within India and is expected to support the government’s “Make in India” initiative by localizing production of key components and reducing dependence on imports. The partnership aligns with Dixon’s participation in the ₹22,919 crore incentive-linked Electronics Components Manufacturing Scheme, aimed at strengthening India’s position as a global hub for electronics manufacturing.

“We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Chongqing Yuhai Precision Manufacturing Co Ltd, a global leader in mechanical enclosures. This venture will significantly enhance our ability to manufacture precision mechanical and metal parts for various applications, helping to localize component production and support our larger goal of creating a more self-reliant supply chain,” said Atul B Lall, Vice Chairman & Managing Director of Dixon Technologies.

The establishment of the joint venture remains subject to necessary regulatory approvals and the finalization of definitive agreements. Once operational, the JV is expected to contribute meaningfully to India’s electronics manufacturing ecosystem, spanning consumer electronics, connected devices, and automotive technology.
