The HARTING Technology Group has another reason to celebrate: following CEO Philip Harting’s 50th birthday, the company’s senior partner, Dietmar Harting, marks his 85th. These milestones highlight the contributions of two generations who have transformed the family business into a global leader in connectivity technology.
Dietmar Harting, known in the industry as “Mr. Standardisation,” took over leadership of the company in 1967. With his forward-thinking approach and dedication to innovation, he grew HARTING from a local firm into a worldwide market leader. His tireless advocacy for uniform standards earned him widespread recognition and numerous accolades, including the DIN Ring of Honour, the DKE Pin in Gold, an honorary doctorate from Leibniz University Hanover, the Lower Saxony Cross of Merit 1st Class, and the Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class. In 2009, the town of Espelkamp honored him with honorary citizenship for his contributions to social causes, sports, and the community.
Reflecting on his journey, Dietmar Harting stated, “I am thankful and proud of what we have accomplished as a family, and I continue to look toward the future with excitement.”
