Delta Electronics India has entered into a strategic partnership with ThunderPlus, a leading provider of EV charging solutions for two-wheelers (2W) and three-wheelers (3W). Under this collaboration, Delta will supply its 4kW high-efficiency rectifier modules, manufactured at its Krishnagiri facility in Tamil Nadu, to power ThunderPlus’ fast chargers designed for low-voltage EVs in the 2W and 3W categories.
These rectifiers, which deliver up to 93% energy efficiency, are crafted to ensure reliable and sustainable power for EV charging. Delta Electronics India’s Managing Director, Niranjan Nayak, expressed that the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to advancing energy-efficient technologies that support India’s transition to electric mobility. He credited Delta’s state-of-the-art R&D center in Bengaluru and its manufacturing capabilities in Krishnagiri for driving this achievement.
Manjula Girish, Business Head of EV Charging Infrastructure at Delta Electronics India, emphasized that the rectifiers are tailored specifically for ThunderPlus’ fast chargers, integrating cutting-edge technology with localized production to meet the demands of India’s growing EV market. ThunderPlus CEO, Rajeev YSR, noted that the partnership brings together Delta’s expertise in energy solutions and ThunderPlus’ focus on efficient EV charging infrastructure. He highlighted that the customizable chargers are designed to cater to the operational needs of both OEMs and end-users.
This collaboration aims to enhance charging efficiency for India’s expanding 2W and 3W EV market by reducing charging downtime and fostering a sustainable charging ecosystem. Combining global standards with Indian market requirements, the chargers developed through this partnership will support the evolving needs of EV users.
ThunderPlus has already engaged with leading OEMs in the 2W and 3W segments and plans to leverage co-branding opportunities to further solidify the partnership. With the rapid growth of India’s EV market, particularly in the two-wheeler and three-wheeler segments, this collaboration is expected to play a key role in building a robust and sustainable EV infrastructure across the country.
