Deepak Fertilisers and Petrochemicals Corporation Ltd (DFPCL) has signed a five-year agreement with Petronet LNG Ltd to secure regasification services for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The partnership includes DFPCL and its step-down subsidiary, Performance Chemiserve Ltd (PCL), and will ensure a consistent supply of gas for their industrial operations.

As per the agreement, Petronet LNG will regasify approximately 25 trillion British thermal units (TBTUs) of LNG annually, after an initial scale-up phase. This service will be primarily conducted at Petronet’s Dahej terminal. The regasified natural gas will be supplied to DFPCL and PCL’s manufacturing plants located in Taloja, Mumbai, for internal energy requirements.

This development enables DFPCL to integrate its operations more efficiently—from sourcing natural gas to manufacturing Ammonia and downstream products such as Nitric Acid, NPK fertilisers, and specialty chemicals. The move strengthens the company’s position across the value chain, enhancing supply reliability and reducing dependency on external intermediaries.

DFPCL is a major Indian manufacturer of fertilisers and industrial chemicals, serving critical sectors like infrastructure, mining, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture. The company operates production facilities across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Haryana. It is recognized as India’s top producer of Iso Propyl Alcohol (IPA) and Southeast Asia’s largest manufacturer of Nitric Acid.

The company is also one of the world’s key producers of Technical Ammonium Nitrate (TAN), and the only Indian manufacturer of pilled Technical Grade Ammonium Nitrate and Medical Grade Ammonium Nitrate. To further support the mining sector, DFPCL has launched technical services to help downstream users improve operational efficiency.

In its Crop Nutrition Business (CNB), the company offers a diverse portfolio of 48 products, including conventional bulk fertilisers and advanced nutrient solutions. These innovations are backed by extensive R&D and over 50,000 field trials across key crops such as cotton, sugarcane, onion, fruits, and vegetables. Over the past three years, DFPCL’s value-added solutions have reached more than six million farmers, delivering measurable improvements in yield and crop quality.
