Deepak Chem Tech Limited (DCTL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Deepak Nitrite Limited, has announced an ambitious ₹5,000 crore investment to establish a state-of-the-art polycarbonate manufacturing plant at Dahej, Gujarat. The facility, designed to produce 165,000 metric tonnes annually, is slated for commissioning by the fourth quarter of FY 2028.
As part of this initiative, Deepak Chem has entered into a strategic agreement with Trinseo to acquire its polycarbonate assets in Stade, Germany. The deal includes access to Trinseo’s globally recognized CALIBRE™ resins and trademarks, along with a technology license to enhance DCTL’s capabilities.

Polycarbonate, a versatile and rapidly growing polymer, is widely used in industries such as automotive (including electric vehicles), electronics, construction, medical devices, and emerging sectors like aerospace and drones.
