Deburring and precision surface finishing are pivotal aspects of surface treatment technology. The significant challenges and projects brought to DeburringEXPO 2023 by 1214 visitors underpin the growing importance of these processes, primarily driven by quality and cost considerations. This year’s event hosted 10% more visitors than in 2021, with more than 20% of attendees coming from outside Germany. A total of 18 countries were represented, with the majority of visitors hailing from Germany, followed by Switzerland, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. “What matters most is that the exhibiting companies found value at the trade fair,” said Hartmut Herdin, Managing Director of fairXperts GmbH & Co. Positive Post-Event Business Prospects
Feedback from participants attested to the positive outcomes at DeburringEXPO. Steffen Hedrich, Managing Director of Kempf GmbH, commented, “Practically every visitor comes to the trade fair with an ongoing problem, resulting in in-depth discussions. We presented a world-first for demanding deburring tasks, and the feedback exceeded our expectations. We’re already planning to exhibit in 2025.” The high proportion of expert visitors contributed to the event’s success, attracting a significant number of professionals from sectors such as machinery and systems manufacturing, metalworking, medical technology, tool and mold making, precision engineering, automotive, and aerospace. Roughly 92% of attendees influence company investment decisions, leading to high-quality contacts and requests for quotations (RFQs) for exhibitors.
Shigeru Kajisaki, Managing Director of Yamazen Europe GmbH, stated, “We were surprised by the highly specific tasks and RFQs, and by the quality of our leads.” Dieter Münz, Managing Director of Ultratec Innovation GmbH, emphasized that DeburringEXPO is their most crucial trade fair, offering the highest success rate for post-event business. David Bartels, Laboratory Manager at Höckh Metall-Reinigungsanlagen GmbH, reported that the joint trade fair presentation with SGM s.r.l. generated numerous new contacts and interesting leads. Patrick Taschek, Sales and Project Engineer at Rösler Oberflächentechnik GmbH, highlighted discussions on reducing manual processes and increasing automation, indicating a growing demand for automation solutions. Jan-Niklas Merkel from SHL AG noted the trend toward more automation, in response to the shortage of qualified personnel.
Visitor Satisfaction Driven by Innovation
The high level of visitor satisfaction at DeburringEXPO is reflected in the survey results, with roughly 95% expressing satisfaction with the trade fair offerings. The exhibitors’ presentation of new developments significantly contributed to this satisfaction. The recommendation rate was also noteworthy, with over 75% of attendees indicating they would recommend the trade fair as an information and procurement platform to colleagues and business partners.
