DCW Limited has unveiled plans for a major increase in its Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride (CPVC) production capabilities. Following a board meeting on October 17, 2024, the company announced its intention to raise production capacity by 30,000 metric tonnes (MT), expanding total capacity from 20,000 MT to 50,000 MT.
This expansion is expected to be completed by FY26, with 20,000 MT anticipated to be operational in the latter half of Q2 FY26, and an additional 10,000 MT to be added by the end of FY26. CPVC is a highly adaptable thermoplastic commonly used for manufacturing pipes that handle both hot and cold water, as well as in various industrial applications.
The expansion will involve the installation of new equipment, de-bottlenecking existing facilities, and optimizing processes to meet the growing demand for CPVC while upholding stringent quality standards. The planned capacity enhancement, estimated to cost around ₹140 crore, will be funded through a combination of bank loans and internal resources.
The increased capacity will utilize DCW’s current infrastructure, providing cost efficiency and operational reliability, while incorporating its own Suspension PVC (S-PVC) as a key raw material. In addition to the capacity expansion, DCW also announced changes in its leadership structure. Pramod Kumar Jain will resign as Chairman and Managing Director on October 31, 2024, and will transition to the role of Chairman Emeritus. Bakul Jain, the current Managing Director, will assume the position of Chairman starting November 1, 2024.
