Dassault Aviation has entered into a strategic partnership with Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) through the signing of four Production Transfer Agreements to manufacture the Rafale fighter aircraft fuselage in India. This marks a pivotal milestone in enhancing India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities and strengthening global supply chains. The new facility will serve as a key center for high-precision manufacturing, reflecting a significant investment in the country’s aerospace infrastructure.

As part of the agreement, Tata Advanced Systems will establish an advanced production facility in Hyderabad dedicated to producing essential structural components of the Rafale aircraft, including the lateral shells of the rear fuselage, the complete rear section, the central fuselage, and the front section. The first fuselage sections are expected to be delivered by FY2028, with the facility set to produce up to two complete fuselages each month.

Eric Trappier, Chairman and CEO of Dassault Aviation, stated, “For the first time, Rafale fuselages will be produced outside France. This is a major step in reinforcing our supply chain in India. With the support of our local partners, including TASL, a key player in the Indian aerospace sector, this supply chain will help scale up Rafale production while maintaining our high standards of quality and competitiveness.”

Sukaran Singh, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Advanced Systems Limited, said, “This collaboration is a landmark moment in India’s aerospace growth. Manufacturing the complete Rafale fuselage in India highlights the growing trust in Tata Advanced Systems’ capabilities and demonstrates India’s significant strides in creating a modern, competitive aerospace manufacturing ecosystem capable of supporting global platforms.”

This collaboration also underscores Dassault Aviation’s commitment to India’s “Make in India” and AtmaNirbhar initiatives, reinforcing the country’s position as a key player in the global aerospace supply chain while advancing its objective of greater economic self-sufficiency.
