Dana

Dana India has successfully completed a series of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on enhancing road safety and infrastructure in Chakan, Pune, particularly in areas prone to accidents. These efforts demonstrate the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting community welfare and sustainable development.

As part of its road safety program, Dana India installed 30 high-mast solar streetlights at AlandiPhataChowk in Chakan, improving visibility and significantly lowering the risk of accidents for around 3,600 local residents and travelers. This project aligns with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and 13 (Climate Action).

In addition to the street lighting, the company also installed road safety signage and metal barricades in Chakan’s industrial areas, enhancing traffic regulation and pedestrian safety. These upgrades are expected to benefit approximately 2.5 lakh commuters every day, contributing to SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

This initiative supports SDGs 3 (Good Health and Well-being), 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 15 (Life on Land), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).

Dana India also upgraded street lighting in key locations such as the Chakan Industrial Area and Endurance Chowk, improving safety for approximately 3 lakh individuals during nighttime. These improvements align with SDGs 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 15 (Life on Land). Through these impactful CSR efforts, Dana India continues to contribute to sustainable development and community safety, both in Maharashtra and across India.
