Dalmia Bharat Ltd. has announced plans to increase its cement production capacity. The company aims to reach 75 million tonnes by 2027 and eventually grow to between 110 and 130 million tonnes by 2031.

They plan to achieve this through new construction projects, expansions of existing facilities, and acquiring other companies. In the past year, they added six million tonnes of cement capacity in southern and eastern India. They are currently focusing on completing ongoing projects and integrating assets like Jaypee Cement. Recently, they invested ₹240 crore to expand their plant in Ariyalur, Tamil Nadu, and will add another million tonnes in Kadapa.

As of May 31, 2024, their total capacity stood at 45.6 million tonnes. In the coming year, they plan to add 2.4 million tonnes in Assam and 0.5 million tonnes in Bihar. They are also in the process of acquiring cement assets from Jaiprakash Associates, which will add 9.4 million tonnes to their capacity and mark their entry into the Central region.

By the end of this fiscal year, Dalmia Bharat’s total capacity is expected to reach approximately 58.9 million tonnes. They are also investing ₹3,858 crore to expand in the northeast, including setting up new units in Umranghsu and Lanka. This expansion is part of their strategy to meet the growing demand for cement in the eastern region, where they already hold a significant market share.
