At the Mobility Move 2025 event in Berlin, Daimler Buses will showcase its cutting-edge solutions for electric mobility. The event, which runs from April 1 to April 3, is a significant gathering for transport professionals from across Germany to explore the latest in electromobility technology.
Among the highlights at the Daimler Buses exhibition is the debut of the Mercedes-Benz eCitaro K, a 10.63-meter, short version of the renowned eCitaro electric low-floor bus. This compact model is designed for narrower routes, such as those in suburban areas and older city districts. Its capacity to carry up to 84 passengers makes it versatile for both off-peak and peak hour operations. The eCitaro K is equipped with five high-voltage battery packs, offering a total energy capacity of 491 kWh. Starting in 2026, it will also feature the fourth generation of NMC batteries for enhanced range and durability.
Safety is a top priority for Daimler Buses, and the eCitaro K is packed with advanced safety systems, including a 360° camera system, Preventive Brake Assist 2, Sideguard Assist 2, and Attention Assist. Passengers can enjoy a comfortable ride with thoughtfully designed seating, USB charging stations, and easy access for individuals with reduced mobility.
Daimler Buses continues to focus on digital services to improve fleet efficiency. Through the Omniplus On digital platform, fleet operators can monitor energy consumption, track battery health, and receive real-time diagnostics. As a special offer, new eCitaro K buses come with a Digital Services Package at no extra charge for six years, offering a suite of tools to optimize bus operations and reduce overall costs.
Daimler Buses is set to launch its NMC4 battery, which offers a nearly 6% higher energy density than the previous NMC3 generation. This new battery will significantly boost the range and lifespan of the eCitaro models. Furthermore, the NMC4 batteries are designed for fast charging and will come with an eight-year warranty, ensuring long-term reliability for operators.
Daimler Buses Solutions will also be on hand to guide transport companies in their transition to electric mobility. The company offers end-to-end solutions, from feasibility analysis to the design and installation of charging infrastructure, power supply systems, and battery storage. Additionally, the charging management system will ensure efficient use of electricity, minimizing costs and maximizing fleet uptime.
Daimler Buses embraces a circular approach to battery management, with strategies for repair, repurposing, and recycling batteries to extend their lifespan and reduce environmental impact. The company is committed to a sustainable future, offering solutions that align with both the needs of today and the demands of the future.
