Daikin India has established an air-conditioning and HVAC lab at the Centre of Excellence in Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) as part of the Skill India Initiative. This new facility will enable students to acquire skills in advanced technologies that meet global standards.

KJ Jawa, Chairman and Managing Director of Daikin India, announced plans to expand these Centres of Excellence to other educational institutions, equipping them with Daikin’s cutting-edge technologies, working models, and training resources.

Earlier, Jawa inaugurated Daikin India’s new office in Kochi, marking a strategic move aimed at increasing its market presence. “This new office is a crucial step in our efforts to capture a significant share of the market,” he said.

Sanjay Goyal, Senior Vice President and Director of the company, cited industry growth projections of 15-20% in the residential air conditioning sector. He pointed out that only 7-9% of urban Indian households currently use air conditioners, compared to 90% in developed countries. The growing demand for energy-efficient and cost-effective cooling solutions is expected to drive this expansion.

The company is a leading air conditioning and refrigeration solutions provider and a subsidiary of the Japanese multinational, Daikin Industries Ltd. Established in India in 2000, the company has grown significantly, offering a wide range of air conditioning products for residential, commercial, and industrial use.

Daikin India operates a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan, which focuses on producing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly HVAC solutions. Known for its cutting-edge technology, the company has played a pivotal role in promoting sustainable cooling solutions in the Indian market, emphasizing energy conservation and reducing the carbon footprint.
