On October 28, Cyient Ltd announced it has acquired a 27.3% stake in Azimuth AI, a fabless custom Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) company, marking a strategic step forward in expanding its presence in the semiconductor sector.
Krishna Bodanapu, Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Cyient, noted that this investment supports Cyient’s commitment to advancing ASIC chip development. “Partnering with Azimuth AI enhances our ability to develop advanced, India-designed ASIC chips with global applications and reinforces our focus on next-generation energy and power solutions,” he stated.
The move aligns with Cyient’s strategic goal to deepen its semiconductor offerings, adding to its overall growth trajectory. In its recent quarterly report, Cyient posted a 1% year-on-year increase in net profit for Q2FY25, totaling ₹186.6 crore compared to ₹183.6 crore in Q2FY24. Sequentially, net profit rose 26% from ₹147.6 crore in Q1FY25.
For the first half of FY25, Cyient’s total income grew by over 3% to ₹3,597 crore from ₹3,488.7 crore in H1FY24, reflecting its ongoing efforts to build a robust revenue pipeline across various sectors, including semiconductors.
