Crown Worldwide Group, a global leader in logistics, records management, and international mobility, is celebrating its 60th anniversary, highlighting its continued innovation, reliable service, and industry leadership. Founded in 1965 by Jim Thompson, the company has helped corporations and individuals relocate and establish their workspaces and homes with ease.
Over the years, Crown has earned a reputation for excellence, particularly in transporting valuable art collections and managing enterprise-level data and records through its well-regarded records management service. With operations in 45 countries and over 10,000 corporate clients, the company remains focused on expanding its global partnerships, including in key markets like India.
Looking to the future, Group CEO Jennifer Harvey reflected on the company’s growth and adaptability, saying, “Reaching this milestone speaks to the dedication of our employees and the trust of our clients. As we look ahead, we remain committed to innovation, sustainability, and expanding our services to meet the evolving needs of businesses and individuals around the world. Our journey has been incredible, and we’re excited about what the future holds.”
India has become a key market for Crown, contributing 15-20% of its global revenue and ranking among its top 4-5 markets. Recognizing the country’s potential, Crown established operations in India in 1997, becoming the first foreign company in its sector with 100% foreign participation. Starting in Mumbai, Crown expanded quickly to cities like Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Ludhiana, and Hyderabad. As part of its growth strategy, the company transitioned from leasing properties to acquiring assets, reinforcing its presence in the market.
Crown is focusing on growth through “glocal” services by rebranding its Records Management business, which currently manages over 40 million cartons of physical records. The company aims to shift its focus towards digitalization and streamlining workflows, providing more efficient solutions for its clients. In addition, Crown continues to invest in sustainable services through its Crown Workspace division, which offers furniture and IT renewal to help organizations adapt to the evolving needs of modern workplaces.
Moreover, Crown is leveraging its $1.4 billion property portfolio to expand its global reach by providing more storage solutions for clients worldwide. This strategic move supports Crown’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for efficient, digital-first services while ensuring a sustainable and adaptive approach to business operations.
Though demand for its traditional services has decreased, Crown is launching new technology in 2025 to improve visibility, compliance, and ease in corporate international relocation. The company will also introduce services to support assignee wellbeing, addressing the cultural challenges of an increasingly globalized world. With a strong legacy of corporate social responsibility, Crown continues to focus on decarbonization, having completed its global carbon footprint mapping last year.
Srinivas Krishnan, Managing Director, South Asia at Crown Worldwide Group, emphasized the company’s growing commitment to India, saying, “As we celebrate six decades of exceptional service, we are even more focused on advancing our India operations. India is one of the fastest-growing markets for Crown Worldwide Group, and our success here is due to strong partnerships, the integration of technical innovations, and our deep understanding of our customers’ unique needs.”
Crown India is seeing steady growth, with substantial investments in infrastructure, technology, and training. The group is expanding into new areas like healthcare and pharma logistics, custom-bonded warehouses, cold storage for wine, and premium goods storage. Additionally, India is becoming a central hub for Crown’s information management business, with growing demand for secure digital record storage, compliance solutions, and data protection services.
The global information management market is expected to reach USD 100 billion by 2027, with India playing an increasingly significant role. The company also plans to strengthen its workspace and third-party logistics businesses and integrate AI into its operations without reducing its workforce.
As Crown Worldwide Group celebrates its 60th anniversary, it remains dedicated to its legacy of innovation, resilience, and exceptional service. By staying ahead of market trends and customer needs, the company is well-positioned to continue leading the industry for years to come.
