Craftsman Automation Limited has announced plans to set up a new manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park in Shoolagiri, Hosur. The investment of Rs. 150 crore marks a strategic step to expand the company’s footprint in the growing automotive manufacturing hub of Southern India.
The new plant, dedicated to producing aluminum components for the automotive industry, will be primarily funded through term loans, covering 90% of the total cost, with the balance financed via internal funds. The facility is expected to boost Craftsman Automation’s production capacity by 15%, with operations set to begin within 9-12 months.
According to the company, the new location’s proximity—within 100-150 kilometers of key original equipment manufacturers (OEMs)—will enhance its ability to serve clients in the region more effectively. Currently, the company’s Southern India facilities operate at an average capacity of 75%, making this expansion a timely response to growing demand from two-wheeler and passenger car OEMs.
