Cooper Corporation, a leading Indian manufacturer of engines, gensets, and tractors, has entered into a significant strategic partnership with Sinfonia Technology, a renowned Japanese leader in advanced energy solutions. This collaboration combines decades of engineering expertise, a deep-rooted legacy, and a shared vision for advancing clean energy innovation.
The partnership kicks off with the unveiling of the Daimon Genset, India’s first 10 kVA LPG genset that is CPCB IV+ certified, setting a new benchmark in sustainable power generation. Exclusively manufactured by Cooper Corporation, the genset will be marketed across India and exported worldwide, underscoring both companies’ commitment to energy efficiency, environmental stewardship, and technological progress.
The COOPER SINFONIA genset, model CSG-0010L-IN, will be marketed under the brand name ‘Daimon’ in India and ‘Satara’ in Japan—honoring the historical roots of Cooper Corporation in Satara, Maharashtra. This innovative genset combines high performance, low operational costs, and ease of maintenance, offering a cleaner and more economical alternative to traditional diesel gensets and grid power. With LPG as its fuel, it ensures minimal environmental impact while maximizing operational efficiency.
Farrokh N Cooper, Chairman & Managing Director of Cooper Corporation, emphasized the significance of the partnership: “By partnering with Sinfonia Technology, we’re taking a strategic step toward revolutionizing the energy sector with cleaner, more efficient solutions. The Daimon Genset embodies our commitment to collaboration, where Japanese precision and Indian engineering merge to drive progress. Our CPCB IV+ compliant LPG gensets offer industries a sustainable, cost-effective power solution without sacrificing performance.”
Makoto Saito, General Manager of the Social Infrastructure System Sales Dept at Sinfonia Technology, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration: “Our partnership with Cooper Corporation aligns with our vision to deliver sustainable, high-efficiency power solutions globally. The Daimon Genset combines Japan’s engineering excellence with India’s manufacturing expertise, creating a product that meets the highest international standards. Together, we’re advancing clean energy accessibility and contributing to a greener future.”
The Daimon Genset is fully compliant with India’s CPCB IV+ emissions standards, which are the most stringent in the country and aimed at reducing air pollution. The genset is powered by Cooper’s indigenously developed lean-burn gas engine, designed in collaboration with Ricardo, UK.
Featuring an Electronic Engine Management System, Isochronous Governing, and a compact V-Twin 2-Cylinder engine, it promises low emissions, silent operation, high power density, and a lightweight, space-saving design. These features make it suitable for a wide range of applications, from urban and rural microgrids to educational institutions, retail, and industrial setups.
Manufactured at Cooper Corporation’s state-of-the-art facility in Satara, Maharashtra, the Daimon Genset will be marketed and distributed globally, with a strong focus on Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Sinfonia Technology’s deep expertise in power electronics and global market access further strengthens this partnership, ensuring the delivery of world-class clean energy solutions that are in line with the evolving demands of a sustainable future.
