Continental Tires appoints Samir Gupta as its Indian Managing Director

Samir Gupta will take up his new responsibilities as Managing Director of Continental Tires and will also oversee additional duty as the Head of the Central Asia Region (India, Indonesia, Thailand and Malaysia) in the Passenger & Light Truck Tires Replacement Business (PLT RE) segment. He has been heading the PLTRE segment at Continental Automotive for the past three years.

One of the premier tyre manufacturing companies of the world, Continental Tires announced the appointment of Samir Gupta as the new Managing Director for India. For the past three years, he is heading the PLT RE segment of the Continental Central Asia Region, which he will continue to perform. 

A Sales and Marketing professional Samir Gupta has experience of over three decades in diversified industrial sectors. Sameer has been associated with Continental Automotive for almost a decade now. His prior stint as the Managing Director of Continental Tires Malaysia saw him lead an organizational transformation project to build a highly-effective technical sales force.

Sameer's services have been instrumental for the company in developing efficient processes and building a resilient team that has helped increase the company’s profitability and growth. Before his service at Continental Tyres Malaysia and Thailand, he also held the position of Market Manager in the Truck & Bus Tyres division of Continental India Pvt Limited. He was a driving force in shaping the Truck Tyers business in India in its early phases.

As Continental India is currently focusing on expanding its footprint across the subcontinent, Mr Gupta’s appointment is expected to play an integral role in reaching this goal. As per the media release, Samir's customer-centric approach will align Continental’s strengths of superior manufacturing, country-specific focused portfolio and digital solutions expertise leading to the expansion in the country.

Thereby improving the operational efficiency for continental’s ongoing success in the Indian market.
