Continental Mobile Robots has teamed up with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to create new software solutions for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR). This software will help AMRs used in intralogistics and agriculture operate more efficiently and safely.
The new software uses Continental’s expertise in AMR technology and AWS’s cloud services. This collaboration allows better control and monitoring of AMR fleets. The software stack includes features like remote debugging, monitoring, and AI-powered safe navigation.
Rahul Singh, Global Head of AMR Software at Continental, said, “AWS’ services help us deliver top-notch Mobile Robots with great safety and reliability. Our platform is already being used successfully in intralogistics. We are excited to offer this to more customers.”
Adrian De Luca, Director of Cloud Acceleration at AWS, added, “By combining AWS’s cloud power and industry knowledge with Continental’s AMR expertise, we can unlock the full potential of Mobile Robots.”
Continental’s AMR solutions include robot hardware, advanced software, and AI-enabled fleet management. Using AWS, Continental is building a cloud-based platform that allows customers to customize their AMR solutions for different industries.
Continental’s AMRs are already used in intralogistics in Europe, Asia, and North America. These robots help speed up material flow, reduce errors, and address labor shortages. A new agriculture-focused AMR will be available by the end of 2024. This modular robot can perform tasks like UVC treatment, selective harvesting, and scouting with various attachments.
