Colgate-Palmolive continues to deepen its long-standing commitment to community well-being in India through programmes that address health, education, livelihoods, and environmental sustainability in an integrated manner. The company’s approach is based on the belief that lasting social progress is achieved when these areas are addressed together rather than in isolation.

A key pillar of Colgate-Palmolive’s community efforts is Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures®, its oral health education programme. Since its inception, the initiative has reached more than 195 million children across India, making it one of the country’s largest preventive health programmes. Each year, the programme engages with nearly 10 million children across more than 25,000 schools, in collaboration with Anganwadi workers, ASHA personnel, non-governmental organisations, and state governments. The initiative supports national priorities such as Ayushman Bharat and Poshan Abhiyan and operates in both urban and remote regions across multiple states.

To support young people as they transition into higher education and professional careers, Colgate-Palmolive launched the Keep India Smiling Scholarships in 2019. The programme provides financial assistance to students pursuing dental and STEM education, helping remove economic barriers to learning. To date, over 7,000 scholarships have been awarded, with recipients representing diverse academic, geographic, and socio-economic backgrounds.

The company also focuses on strengthening access to clean water through conservation and replenishment initiatives aligned with the Jal Jeevan Mission and Atal Bhujal Yojana. These efforts have supported more than 530 villages and over 300,000 people, while replenishing approximately 450 million litres of water for domestic use, agriculture, and community needs.

In addition, Colgate-Palmolive’s financial and digital literacy programmes have reached more than 150,000 beneficiaries across 300 villages, helping individuals access banking services, digital tools, and government schemes. Rural waste management initiatives aligned with Swachh Bharat Mission 2.0 are also improving sanitation and creating dignified livelihoods for sanitation workers across more than 50 locations. Through these programmes, Colgate-Palmolive continues to focus on prevention, inclusion, and long-term partnerships that support community resilience and well-being.

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd, with an 88-year legacy in the country, is the market leader in oral care. The company focuses on science-led innovation in oral and personal care while advancing sustainability and community well-being. Key initiatives include reducing plastic waste, conserving resources at manufacturing facilities, empowering women through financial and digital literacy, and promoting children’s oral health through the Bright Smiles, Bright Futures® program.
