Coca-Cola India will participate in the upcoming Ratha Yatra festival in Puri, scheduled from June 27 to July 5, 2025. The company plans to make its beverage range widely available throughout the event, while also supporting local businesses and waste management efforts.
Following its involvement in the Maha Kumbh earlier this year, Coca-Cola India will bring brands such as Coca-Cola, Sprite, Thums Up, Maaza, Limca, and Kinley to the festival. The company aims to ensure easy access to cold beverages for the large number of attendees through pop-up activations, hydration carts, and increased distribution along key routes and public areas including temple pathways, beaches, markets, and transportation hubs.
To commemorate the festival, Coca-Cola will release a special edition of Kinley water bottles featuring Ratha Yatra-themed packaging. Smaller, budget-friendly pack sizes will also be introduced to ensure affordability for festival-goers. As part of its outreach, the company will set up out-of-home displays, cooler stations, and vendor-supported hydration points, providing economic opportunities for local sellers and entrepreneurs.
Vinay Nair, Vice President of Franchise Operations for Coca-Cola India and Southwest Asia, said the initiative is about ensuring hydration and a strong on-ground presence: “Ratha Yatra is one of Odisha’s most important cultural events. Our aim is to support the celebration by making our beverages easily accessible while also contributing to broader social and environmental efforts.”
In partnership with Puri Municipality, local administration, and non-profits including Anandana (Coca-Cola India Foundation), Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages, ODMP, and Y4D Foundation, the company has also launched a plastic waste reduction campaign. The “Used PET Bottle-Free Ratha Yatra 2025” initiative will involve over 180 volunteers, 200 PET collection bins, and a range of public awareness activities including clean-up drives and plogging events. The initiative is part of Coca-Cola India’s broader sustainability and recycling program under the “Maidan Saaf” campaign, aiming to limit festival-related waste and promote responsible disposal practices.
