CNH, the Italian American company specializing in off-road construction and agriculture, is set to inject an amount of USD 50 million into the farm machinery sector in India. An emphasis will be placed on the tractor business, with around USD 25–30 million dedicated to the enhancement of this segment.

CNH is one of the global leaders in the capital goods sector, operating in various industries such as agriculture, construction, and commercial vehicles. With a comprehensive product portfolio, CNH Industrial designs, produces, and sells agricultural and construction equipment, trucks, commercial vehicles, buses, and specialty vehicles.

The company is recognized for iconic brands such as Case IH, New Holland, Iveco, and FPT Industrial. CNH Industrial prioritizes innovation, sustainability, and technological advancements, contributing to the development of efficient and environmentally responsible solutions in the diverse sectors it serves.

The New Holland brand, as a producer and vendor of farm machinery and equipment, has set its focus on the compact range of tractors below 30–40 horsepower (HP). Alongside this emphasis, the company has ambitious plans to achieve sales of 1,000 baler machines, crucial for stubble management, within the current year.

In a bid to enhance fuel efficiency, the company is in the process of developing a tractor model with a horsepower exceeding 45 HP, with plans to unveil this model by the close of 2025. Additionally, a larger tractor boasting 105 HP is scheduled for launch in May of this year, designed for bailing and ridge applications.

Presently, the company manufactures small balers in Pune but depends on the import of certain components. However, there are intentions to localize these components by mid-year. The role of balers in compressing agricultural residue into manageable and transportable bales is deemed crucial by the company.

It is the company’s goal to ensure that small square balers can be effectively utilized with existing tractors, while the operation of large or round balers will necessitate tractors with a horsepower exceeding 100 HP.

Within the agriculture sector, CNH India operates a tractor manufacturing plant in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, with an annual production capacity of 60,000 units. Furthermore, the company has another facility in Pune, Maharashtra, exclusively dedicated to the production of harvesters.
