Clean Electric has launched a groundbreaking universal rapid charging system for light electric vehicles (LEVs) at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. This innovative solution, based on the Standardized Open Network Type-6 BIS Approved Charging Standard, enables 15-minute charging and addresses key EV adoption challenges like speed and infrastructure compatibility in India.

Collaborating with OEMs Bounce and Omega Seiki Mobility, Clean Electric aims to integrate this technology into diverse electric vehicle offerings. Bounce plans to deploy it in its two-wheelers, providing a range of 60–80 km with a 15–20 minute charge, while Omega Seiki Mobility will utilize it in three-wheelers for a 125 km range and in 7-ton electric trucks, both benefiting from the same rapid charging feature.

Mass production of the charging system is set to begin in March 2025, with rollout at public charging stations nationwide. Clean Electric is working closely with vehicle manufacturers to ensure seamless integration, aiming to streamline operations for both individual consumers and commercial fleet operators.

This innovation supports India’s ambitious target of 80% EV penetration in the LEV sector by 2030. By offering faster, interoperable charging, the technology seeks to overcome hurdles like fragmented standards and limited infrastructure, creating a more efficient and cohesive EV ecosystem that benefits users and charging station operators alike.
