Chartered Speed, a major player in India’s passenger transport sector, has partnered with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS) to introduce electric bus services in the state. Ten electric buses have been deployed to enhance connectivity in Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat. The initiative was officially launched by Arunachal Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister, Chowna Mein, who flagged off the new fleet during a formal ceremony.

The newly introduced 9-meter air-conditioned buses are supported by electric vehicle (EV) charging stations set up at key locations in the three cities. This infrastructure will help maintain operational efficiency, reduce vehicle downtime, and support the state’s shift toward greener public transport.

Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director at Chartered Speed, highlighted the company’s commitment to accessible, eco-conscious mobility. “This collaboration with APSTS is a step toward ensuring cleaner, more efficient transport options even in remote regions. It reflects our goal to support India’s broader green mobility movement,” he said.

Chartered Speed is actively transitioning from internal combustion engine vehicles to eco-friendly alternatives. The company operates a fleet of over 1,800 buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, transporting more than 3.5 lakh passengers daily and supported by a team of over 4,800 employees. In a recent development, Chartered Speed secured a contract from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses across 13 cities in three Indian states.

Founded in 2010, Chartered Speed has over 14 years of experience in providing transport solutions across government (B2G), consumer (B2C), and business (B2B) sectors. The company continues to strengthen its footprint in sustainable mobility by offering reliable, future-focused transportation services across the country.
