A professional with corporate and business experience in operations, finance, business expansion and strategy. Chaiitanya is expected to lead the start-up into innovation and revenue growth.
Chaiitanya Bulusu has joined Saral Designs as Chief Strategy and Revenue officer. Saral Designs is a Mumbai-based start-up, which develops machines used to produce sanitary pads at a very low cost. The company was founded by Suhani Mohan and Kartik Mehta in 2015 with an aim to provide high quality and affordable hygiene products to women.
Co-Founder Suhani Mohan said “Mr Bulusu’s 15 years of experience in different sales and strategy roles, especially in the automation and hardware industry, is very specific to what we are trying to do in Saral Designs. With his coming in, we will be looking at broader hygiene category, what more can be done in the industry with the current expertise that we have”.
Chaiitanya Bulusu said, “My whole career has been about scaling things up for various organisations I have worked with. After talking with Suhani and Kartik, I got to know that they are trying to bring social change while empowering and educating women in the country, which is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals. In that alignment I was really excited to join them.”
During the outbreak of Covid 19 in March 2020, the company diversified into making masks in collaboration with Mahindra & Mahindra. The collaborative effort involved modifying their machines into a complete manufacturing line of three-ply surgical face masks.
Mumbai-based Saral Designs’ mission is to develop low cost sanitary pad producing machines to help solve the problem of awareness, access and affordability across the underprivileged and the remote parts of the country. Their products are cost-effective and create local employment opportunities.
Mr Bulusu’s expertise comes from being the founder of organisations such as Unicorn Champs and Pather Solutions. He had served as regional manager at Rockwell Automation and was the branch Manager at Omron Industrial Automation.
Mr Bulusu completed his B.Tech in Electrical engineering from Kurukshetra University and MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. His initial days was with tech giants such as Siemens, Godrej and Schneider Electric.
