The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team or CERT-In, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has partnered with SISA, a renowned leader in forensics-driven cybersecurity, to introduce the Certified Security Professional for Artificial Intelligence (CSPAI) program.
This initiative, the first ANAB-accredited AI security certification of its kind, is a landmark in India’s journey toward securing AI applications. The Public-Private Partnership (PPP) between CERT-In and SISA represents a significant achievement, offering professionals a new pathway for acquiring specialized skills in AI security.
At a formal event held at SISA’s headquarters in Bengaluru, the Director General of CERT-In, Dr Sanjay Bahl, and the Founder and CEO of SISA, Dharshan Shanthamurthy, jointly unveiled and distributed the ANAB-accredited AI Security Certification (CSPAI) certificates to a group of cybersecurity professionals. While addressing the attendees, Dr Bahl emphasized the relevance of the CSPAI program, describing it as both incisive and timely.
He noted that this pioneering program equips professionals with the comprehensive expertise needed to understand and safeguard AI systems against emerging threats. As the first ANAB-accredited AI Security Certification in the world, CSPAI is meticulously designed to address the rapidly changing threat landscape associated with AI in cybersecurity.
Dr Bahl praised the program for its carefully curated blend of essential AI security elements, which will equip professionals with the knowledge to implement secure and trustworthy AI systems in various work environments. He further stated that the certification opens up significant career opportunities, particularly in the growing AI sector, and aligns with CERT-In’s ongoing efforts to enhance public-private collaboration in the field of cybersecurity.
Dharshan Shanthamurthy, SISA’s Founder and CEO, elaborated on the vision behind the CSPAI program. He highlighted how the certification perfectly aligns with SISA’s broader Cyber Nalanda initiative, which was recently inaugurated with a foundation stone-laying ceremony. According to Shanthamurthy, the CSPAI program is a testament to SISA’s unwavering commitment to addressing both present and future cybersecurity challenges, in India and on a global scale.
He emphasized that by equipping professionals with the knowledge and tools to protect AI systems, the program plays a pivotal role in building a secure and innovative digital future. Shanthamurthy also underscored that professionals certified through this program will not only enhance their organizations’ cybersecurity defenses but also contribute to reducing the likelihood of breaches, thereby fostering greater trust with customers and stakeholders alike.
During the event, Renju Verghese, Vice President of Forensics and R&D at SISA, gave an insightful presentation on the CSPAI program. His presentation covered the unique features of the program, offering attendees a detailed overview of the security strategies essential for protecting AI systems in today’s complex threat environment.
