Cencora has announced major investments to elevate its third-party logistics capabilities across the United States and Europe, expanding its global footprint and reinforcing the specialty logistics support it provides to pharmaceutical manufacturers. With the continued rise of high-value and temperature-sensitive therapies and growing demand for end-to-end supply chain management, the company is broadening its network to ensure stronger distribution efficiency, increased storage capacity and enhanced cold chain coverage.

In Europe, Cencora is significantly advancing its regional presence through the addition of NextPharma Logistics, a healthcare logistics provider with operations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The expansion also includes the development of a new 3PL site in Italy scheduled to open in 2026, complementing recent investments to increase storage space in France, Spain and the United Kingdom.

These additions strengthen the company’s ability to offer pan-European support by combining large-scale logistics infrastructure with deep expertise in regulated and temperature-controlled supply chains. NextPharma Logistics brings established competencies in storage, distribution, serialization and compliance, supported by facilities designed for refrigerated and deep-frozen environments. Cencora is also boosting cold chain resilience through a new specialty unit equipped with cryogenic technology in the Netherlands and expanded frozen and refrigerated capacity in France.

Growth plans in the United States reflect similar momentum, with a new 500,000-square-foot automated 3PL hub in Texas set to become operational in 2028. When completed, it will be the fifth such facility operated by Cencora nationwide and will substantially increase the company’s ability to manage controlled room temperature, refrigerated, frozen, ultra-low and cryogenic storage.

The company has already tripled cryogenic and ultra-low temperature capacity across its American network to support the rapid adoption of advanced treatments such as cell and gene therapies. Increased storage and temperature control flexibility across every stage of the supply chain allows Cencora to support products from clinical development through commercial launch and long-term distribution.
