CEAT Ltd has launched a new line of passenger car tyres, branded as CIRCL, featuring up to 90% sustainable, bio-based materials. This marks the company’s entry into the sustainable tyre segment. The limited edition tyres are produced at CEAT’s Halol manufacturing plant and will be available in two variants: one with 50% bio-based content priced at ₹8,999, and another with 90% bio-based content priced at ₹12,999.
Initially, the CIRCL range will be available in 10 metropolitan cities. Customers can purchase the tyres through CEAT’s online platform and selected retail outlets. The tyres are compatible with both electric vehicles and SUVs.
Speaking at a media briefing, Lakshmi Narayanan B Chief Marketing Officer at CEAT, stated “This is part of a longer-term product development plan. CIRCL reflects three years of development and forms part of our five-year roadmap. The limited edition allows consumers to experience and support sustainable mobility.”
The company plans to increase production based on how the market responds. “Our aim is to create awareness and interest around sustainable tyre options. As consumer demand grows, we are prepared to scale up accordingly,” Mr Narayanan added.
CEAT also has plans to introduce its sustainable tyre range in international markets but will focus on India initially. “As a global company, we operate in multiple regions, each with different regulatory frameworks around sustainability. We see potential in international markets, but the current focus remains on building traction in India,” Mr Narayanan said.
