Castings Technology, a renowned UK specialist in titanium castings, has announced a major expansion with the development of a new 192,000 sq ft facility at Tinsley Depot in Sheffield. The relocation marks a major milestone for the company, which has outgrown its existing site at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham. The new space will enable the business to significantly boost its production capacity, enhance efficiency, and reinforce its position within global supply chains.

The agreement for the new site at Tinsley Industrial Estate was completed with the assistance of Knight Frank and Yoke Real Estate, supporting Castings Technology’s next stage of growth and development. Once operational, the new facility will be among the world’s largest titanium foundries, serving a wide range of industries — from aerospace, marine, oil and gas, and power generation OEMs to smaller regional manufacturers.

The company has confirmed an £18 million investment programme to fund the expansion, which includes a £15 million financing arrangement with Zachary Asset Holdings. The investment will cover the cost of the new site, advanced equipment, and the creation of additional skilled jobs. The upgraded facility will feature state-of-the-art pattern-making, moulding, vacuum and air melt casting systems, as well as support services for titanium and ferro-alloy components.

Chairman Kevin Parkin said the move represents a pivotal moment in the company’s growth. “Continuing to lease the building and equipment from the AMRC made sense following the management buy-out in 2021,” he said. “However, with our expansion and increasing demand, it is now essential for us to move into a larger, dedicated facility equipped with world-class technology.”

Managing Director Richard Cook added: “We have built a strong and focused growth strategy. This move will allow us to enhance efficiency and strengthen collaboration with our clients and partners. It provides a solid foundation for Castings Technology to maintain supply chain resilience and meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
