CASE Construction Equipment, a brand of CNH, has started the second phase of its LEAD (Livelihoods and Entrepreneurship Awareness Development) project in India. This initiative aims to promote rural entrepreneurship and economic growth by training rural youth in various skills, helping reduce urban migration.
The LEAD 2.0 project, launched from Faridabad, targets youth in 1,500 villages across Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Haryana, Odisha, Bhubaneswar, and Jharkhand. It focuses on teaching modern farming techniques, sustainable agricultural practices, and rural industries like poultry, dairy, beekeeping, fisheries, and infrastructure like road construction and irrigation.
Emre Karazli, Vice President of CASE, said the project supports inclusive growth and rural entrepreneurship. Shalabh Chaturvedi, Managing Director of CASE India, added that LEAD 2.0 aligns with India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision by enhancing the skills of rural youth and connecting them with job opportunities.
The first phase, LEAD 1.0, reached 3,113 villages in 5 states and 1 union territory, engaging 61,981 people and actively involving 36,381 participants. CASE aims to continue and expand this success with LEAD 2.0. CASE India is a leading manufacturer of construction equipment, with a major facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, producing equipment for domestic use and export to over 100 markets worldwide.
