CARACAL, a UAE-based small arms manufacturer and part of the EDGE Group, has partnered with ICOMM Tele Ltd, a subsidiary of Megha Engineering & Infrastructures, to open a new small arms manufacturing facility at ICOMM’s Integrated Engineering Facility in Hyderabad. The new facility will act as a local hub for producing a range of advanced weaponry, made possible through a significant technology transfer agreement with CARACAL.
This marks a key milestone in strengthening defense ties between the UAE and India, according to an official statement. The facility will manufacture several models, including the CAR 816 close-quarters battle rifle (5.56x45mm), CAR 817 assault rifle (7.62x51mm), CSR 338 sniper rifle (.338 Lapua Magnum), CSR 308 sniper rifle (.308 Winchester), CSR 50 anti-materiel sniper rifle (12.7x99mm), CMP9 submachine gun (9x19mm), and the CARACAL EF and CARACAL F GEN II pistols (9x19mm), the statement noted.
These cutting-edge weapons are intended to meet the needs of the Indian Armed Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Special Forces, State Police Forces, and SPG, while also supporting CARACAL’s global export demands.
