BYD has unveiled its all-electric E-VALI light commercial vehicle (LCV) at the IAA Transportation 2024 event in Hannover. Tailored for the European market and designed for last-mile and parcel deliveries, the E-VALI (available in 3.5t and 4.25t variants) showcases BYD’s latest advancements in electric vehicle technology for the LCV segment. The E-VALI offers a range of 220-250km (WLTP) and can fast charge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes.

The E-VALI stands out with its new design language and generous cargo space of up to 17.9 cubic meters in the 4.25t model, along with a payload capacity of up to 1450kg. Features like sliding side doors, wide rear doors, and foldable seats enhance convenience for delivery operations.

The van’s design also allows drivers to stand upright inside, easing the physical strain of loading and unloading cargo. A bulkhead separates the driver’s cabin from the cargo area, ensuring safety and comfort.

Inside, the E-VALI boasts a sleek, modern design focused on both comfort and technology. A large touchscreen serves as the hub for infotainment, integrating Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Over The Air (OTA) updates.

Voice recognition and a split-screen mode add to the user experience, while an accompanying BYD app offers remote vehicle monitoring features. The dashboard is designed for easy access, and extras like wireless charging and adjustable seating come standard, making the van more ergonomic for frequent use by couriers.

Driver assistance features are comprehensive, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Blind Spot Detection, and more, ensuring a safer driving experience. The E-VALI is powered by BYD’s Blade Battery technology, featuring a 80.64 kWh Lithium Iron-Phosphate (LFP) battery known for its safety, durability, and efficiency.

The vehicle’s 6-in-1 electric powertrain optimizes performance, simplifies maintenance, and maximizes cargo space. An energy-saving heat pump is included as standard, further improving the van’s performance in varying climates.
