Burkert Fluid Control Systems India Pvt. Ltd., a top manufacturer of liquid and gas measurement and control systems, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra. The state-of-the-art plant is designed to meet rising demand in the region by producing essential components and system solutions locally.
Situated in Talegaon MIDC, Phase 2, the 50,000-square-foot facility features advanced machining, assembly, and testing centers. It has the capacity to produce more than 30,000 valves and 500 systems annually. Initially, the plant will focus on manufacturing products like Mass Flow Controllers, Angle Seat Valves, Diaphragm Valves, and customized system solutions, with future plans for expansion. This move will also support local job creation and improve service efficiency.
At the inauguration, Burkert Fluid Control Systems CEO Georg Stawowy said, “Our new facility in India reflects our dedication to the Indian market and aligns with the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Local production allows us to deliver more tailored solutions to meet the specific needs of our customers and solidify Burkert’s role in India’s industrial growth.”
Sadiq Khan, Managing Director of Burkert Fluid Control Systems India, highlighted the significance of the new plant, noting that it’s the company’s third production site outside Europe. “This facility is a crucial step in completing Burkert’s global value chain,” he said.
The Talegaon plant is expected to employ 32 people by the end of this year, with the workforce growing to 100 by next year. Burkert has already transferred advanced technology to India, including systems for Zone 1 ATEX classification panels, which will help the company reach profitability by 2028.
Globally, it reports a turnover of 710 million EUR, with a workforce of over 3,700 and a strong focus on R&D, investing 6.9% of its revenue in innovation. In India, the company serves major clients like Zydus, Alembic, Sun Pharma, and Bharat Biotech, underscoring its critical role in the country’s industrial sector.
