Burckhardt Compression has officially opened its upgraded service center in New Iberia, Louisiana, marking an expansion of its service and repair capabilities in the southern United States. The facility is located at 7502 Highway 90 East, approximately 15 miles south of Lafayette, and includes a 13,320 square foot workshop designed to support a wide range of compressor maintenance and repair activities.
The service center is fully equipped and certified to carry out scheduled maintenance, emergency repairs, upgrades, and complete overhauls. Burckhardt Compression’s field service teams provide on-site support for customers during planned outages as well as unplanned equipment failures, with the aim of reducing downtime and restoring operations as quickly as possible. The teams bring experience across all major brands of compressors and gas engines, allowing them to support diverse customer fleets.
Services offered range from technical fault diagnostics and routine seal replacements to valve repairs and full refurbishments. The New Iberia facility also has specialized expertise in Waukesha gas engines, VHP swing engines, and a broad range of gas compressors, strengthening Burckhardt Compression’s regional service offering.
Ananth Srinivasan, Head of Services US at Burckhardt Compression, said the upgraded service center reflects the company’s continued investment in customer support and operational reliability. He noted that the expanded facility and skilled workforce enhance the company’s ability to deliver maintenance and repair services for reciprocating compressors across the region.
To mark the opening, Burckhardt Compression hosted an open house at the service center, welcoming customers for facility tours and discussions with field service personnel. Visitors were given an overview of the equipment, processes, and technical capabilities available at the site, as well as an opportunity to engage directly with the service teams.
The New Iberia team currently includes 13 Field Service Representatives who work primarily on customer sites, performing inspections, seal replacements, valve rebuilds, major overhauls, and refurbishment projects. Mitch LeBlanc, Operations Manager, said demand for field service support has continued to increase and that the company is actively seeking additional experienced technicians to join the team. The opening event brought together operators from the surrounding area and provided a forum for strengthening local relationships while showcasing the company’s service capabilities.
