Bry-Air, a flagship company of the Pahwa Group, continued its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) by organizing the 13th Biannual Eye Camp in Moga, Punjab, on December 3, 2023. Collaborating with the local NGO partner, Bhartiya Jagriti Manch, the camp aimed to provide eye care support to underprivileged individuals in the region.

The camp, held at Mathra Das Civil Hospital, attracted more than 2500 people from various villages in the Moga district. Among the attendees, 104 individuals were identified with the need for cataract surgery. As part of the initiative, the camp distributed 1200 medicines and 300 spectacles free of cost to those in need.
Sanjeev Saini, Chairman of Blooming Buds School, Moga, and Anandita Pahwa, Head of CSR at Pahwa Group, jointly inaugurated the 13th Biannual Eye Camp. The event was graced by the presence of Indu Puri and Dr. Amandeep Kaur Arora, MLA of Moga, along with other eminent personalities from the region. This CSR initiative has been an annual tradition since 2012, paying tribute to Rai Bahadur Dr. Mathra Das Pahwa, a renowned figure in the field of eye care. Dr. Pahwa, during his lifetime, conducted over half a million surgeries and gained recognition as Netra-Dev (God of Eyes). His exceptional philanthropic work, especially in providing cataract surgery for the underprivileged, earned him several awards, including Padma Shri (1954), the title of Rai Bahadur (1921), Kesari Hind-Gold Medal (1924), and Kesari Hind-Silver Medal (1912).
Continuing Dr. Pahwa’s legacy, Bry-Air has organized a total of 115 eye camps to date, providing treatment to approximately 40,228 individuals over the years. The initiative has resulted in 3269 successful cataract surgeries, accompanied by the distribution of 24,991 free spectacles and 31,623 free medicines. Anandita Pahwa, Head of CSR at Pahwa Group, expressed the company’s commitment to creating positive societal change through proactive CSR activities. She emphasized the continuous efforts to help people with eye-related problems regain their eyesight, acknowledging the significant impact made over time and expressing the desire to support more individuals in the future.
Bhartiya Jagriti Manch, the local NGO partner, commended the collaboration with Bry-Air, highlighting the opportunity to create awareness and provide essential medical assistance to underserved communities. The organization played a pivotal role in directly reaching out to beneficiaries and offering free-of-cost services during the camp.
