Brihaspathi Technologies Limited, an AI-driven surveillance and security solutions provider based in the city, announced on Thursday its plans to launch an Initial Public Offering (IPO) in the upcoming fiscal year. The funds raised will primarily support the company’s research and development (R&D) initiatives and help expand its manufacturing capacity.
The company has successfully secured USD 10 million in funding from a group of foreign institutional investors. This capital injection will propel the company’s expansion strategy, which includes the development of a new 72,000 sqft CCTV manufacturing facility in the city, set to begin operations by the end of this fiscal year, according to a press release from the company.
As part of its ambitious growth plans, Brihaspathi Technologies also aims to recruit over 400 new employees to help drive the production and deployment of world-class, AI-powered security solutions made in India. The company has also been awarded a significant surveillance project by the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), which involves installing a comprehensive AI-based CCTV monitoring system across MSRTC’s network. This project is a testament to Brihaspathi Technologies’ strong presence in the public sector, as it continues to forge valuable partnerships with government and institutional clients.
Rajasekhar Papolu, Managing Director of Brihaspathi Technologies Ltd, commented, “The $10 million funding will expedite our expansion, particularly with the launch of our new manufacturing facility in Hyderabad, allowing us to scale up production capabilities significantly. As we approach our IPO next year, we remain focused on advancing AI-powered, Made-in-India technologies to transform the security industry nationwide.”
To date, Brihaspathi Technologies has deployed over 1.2 million CCTV cameras across India, with notable installations including surveillance systems for the Border Security Force (BSF) along international borders, election monitoring for the Election Commission of India, AI-driven classroom monitoring systems, wildlife and national park surveillance, and exam control room solutions in several states. Notably, the company set a record by deploying 64,000 CCTV cameras across 19 states in a single day for the NEET examination.
