Bondada Engineering Ltd has received approval for a 2.6 gigawatt peak (GWp) solar power project allocation from the Government of Andhra Pradesh, significantly enhancing its renewable energy development portfolio. The project corresponds to 2 GW AC of generation capacity and will be implemented across selected sites in the Ananthapuramu and Sri Sathya Sai districts.
The Hyderabad-based infrastructure company submitted comprehensive proposals for the project, which includes installations at Roddam and Kothacheruvu in Sri Sathya Sai district, as well as Gooty, Peddavadugur, Vidapanakallu, Peddapoppur, and Narpala in Ananthapuramu district. The State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) approved the allocation during its meeting on May 15, 2025.
The project award is contingent on ensuring that no overlap exists with land already allocated for other renewable energy developments or designated for wind resource assessments. The initiative will be developed through Bondada Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bondada Engineering. The timeline for completion is set at 24 months, as outlined in the Andhra Pradesh Integrated Clean Energy Policy – 2024.
Valued at INR 9,000 crore under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model, the project will raise the company’s total order book to approximately INR 14,000 crore. Additionally, from financial year 2029, the company projects INR 1,160 crore in revenue through operations as an independent power producer (IPP).
