Boeing has officially delivered the Satelit Nusantara Lima (SNL) to PT PasifikSatelit Nusantara (PSN), marking a major step in enhancing high-capacity, reliable internet and communications coverage across Indonesia’s 17,000+ islands and into neighboring Southeast Asian nations. Built on Boeing’s proven 702MP platform, the SNL satellite offers over 160 Gbps of total capacity, supporting broadband services and critical communications in both urban and remote locations.

“Indonesia was among the first countries to adopt satellite technology to bridge communication gaps, and Nusantara Lima carries that legacy forward,” said Adi Rahman Adiwoso, CEO of PSN Group. “With more than 160 Gbps capacity, this satellite strengthens our ability to meet the nation’s connectivity needs, ensuring that communities, schools, and businesses that lacked access before can now stay connected. Our collaboration with Boeing and other global technology partners ensures that no one is left behind.”

The satellite’s advanced payload processing enables PSN to allocate bandwidth dynamically, prioritizing regions with the highest demand or providing rapid connectivity support to disaster-affected areas. This ensures faster, more reliable service even as usage patterns shift across the country.

Ryan Reid, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International, noted, “Boeing’s relationship with Indonesia dates back to 1976 with the Palapa A1 satellite. Nusantara Lima is the next chapter in that history, designed to address Indonesia’s unique geography and expanding connectivity requirements. PSN has been an excellent partner in this endeavor.”

Equipped with solar wings built by Boeing subsidiary Spectrolab, the satellite will generate up to 15kW of power, enabling full payload operations throughout its planned 15-year mission. Spectrolab has expanded production capabilities in response to rising global demand for durable, space-grade solar technology.

The SNL satellite is scheduled to launch next month from Florida’s Space Coast. Following orbit-raising maneuvers and testing, it is expected to enter commercial service from geostationary orbit—approximately 22,000 miles above Earth—in 2026.

Founded as Indonesia’s first private satellite-based telecommunications provider, PSN delivers affordable, high-speed satellite internet to regions beyond terrestrial network reach. The company aims to become Southeast Asia’s largest satellite capacity operator, targeting a combined capacity of 330 Gbps with more than 35,000 access points across the country. Boeing’s partnership with Indonesia spans over 75 years, encompassing commercial aviation, defense, supply chain development, sustainability initiatives, air traffic modernization, aviation safety programs, and talent development—built on a foundation of mutual trust and shared goals.
