Bodycote today announced plans to establish a new heat treatment facility in Apodaca, within the Monterrey metropolitan region of Mexico, further strengthening the company’s presence across North America and enhancing support for customers operating in Mexico and the southern United States. The new facility represents a strategic investment designed to help manufacturers streamline logistics, improve supply-chain reliability, and advance regional near-shoring initiatives. By expanding its operational footprint closer to key manufacturing hubs, Bodycote aims to provide customers with faster turnaround times, improved production flexibility, and continued access to the company’s internationally recognized technical expertise and process consistency.

The Apodaca site will complement Bodycote’s existing Mexican operations in Silao, San Luis Potosí, and Guaymas, creating a broader regional network capable of supporting a growing range of industrial and automotive applications. The expansion is expected to give customers greater operational choice while reinforcing the company’s ability to meet increasing demand across critical manufacturing sectors.

The new facility will deliver advanced precision heat treatment solutions, including case hardening and nitriding technologies such as carburising, carbonitriding, and nitrocarburising. These processes are widely used to improve the surface durability, fatigue strength, and wear resistance of high-performance components while preserving core toughness and structural integrity. Applications span automotive drivetrains, industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and engineered metal components requiring enhanced mechanical performance under demanding operating conditions.

Operations at the facility will incorporate modern, energy-efficient technologies alongside standardized operating procedures designed to ensure process reliability and repeatable quality outcomes. The site is also expected to support optimized energy performance and improved operational efficiency, aligning with customer expectations for sustainable and dependable manufacturing solutions.

Construction and commissioning activities are progressing with the expectation that the facility will begin operations later in 2026. Capacity expansion will occur in phases to align with customer requirements and anticipated market growth. Bodycote is already engaging with customers to support qualification planning and future production programs, with site tours scheduled to begin during the second quarter of 2026. The investment underscores Bodycote’s long-term commitment to supporting industrial growth across North America and reflects continued momentum in regional manufacturing expansion driven by automotive production, industrial development, and evolving supply-chain strategies.
