Bluspring Enterprises Limited has announced its strategic entry into the aviation catering industry through the acquisition of LSG Sky Chefs (India) Private Limited for INR 129 crore. The acquisition will be executed through its wholly owned subsidiary, Bluspring New Horizon Two Private Limited, and represents a significant step in expanding the company’s presence in high-growth infrastructure-linked services.

LSG India, established in 2001, is a leading provider of in-flight catering and aviation support services, catering to both domestic and international airlines. Its clientele includes major carriers such as IndiGo, Lufthansa, Etihad, and Qatar Airways. The company operates advanced catering facilities, with its Bengaluru unit forming the core of the acquisition. The Hyderabad operations will be carved out prior to the completion of the transaction, which is expected within 60 to 90 days, subject to customary approvals.

The Bengaluru facility spans over 9,200 square metres and has a production capacity of approximately 15,000 meals per day, with additional scope for expansion. Supported by a workforce of more than 400 employees, the unit generates annual revenues exceeding INR 110 crore and maintains strong operating margins.

The acquisition provides Bluspring with access to a long-term concession at Bengaluru Airport, valid until 2039, positioning the company to benefit from the anticipated growth in air passenger traffic. According to industry estimates, passenger volumes at the airport are expected to increase significantly by 2030, creating substantial opportunities in aviation catering and allied services.

Kamal Pal Hoda, Executive Director and CEO of Bluspring Enterprises, described the acquisition as a strategic milestone that enables immediate scale in a specialized segment with high entry barriers. He highlighted the potential for expanding into adjacent airport services while enhancing overall profitability and return on equity.

Nitin Trikha, CEO of the Food and Hospitality Business at Bluspring, emphasized the company’s strong foundation in operational excellence and food safety, noting that these capabilities align well with the stringent standards required in aviation catering. Dave Tuck, Managing Director of LSG India, expressed confidence in the transition, stating that the partnership would ensure operational continuity and support future growth under Bluspring’s leadership.
