Mr Loudermilk further says, “These two new state-of-the-art factories will ensure a secure supply of our industry-leading products, quality, and service, allowing our customers to meet their growth ambitions.”
The new manufacturing sites are poised to play a crucial role in meeting the escalating demand for carbon black products in the region. Each facility is slated to have an initial capacity of 120 thousand metric tons (kMT) operational by 2025, with future plans to expand to 240 kMT. This substantial capacity expansion reflects Birla Carbon’s commitment to addressing the evolving needs of its customers while ensuring a consistent and reliable supply of high-quality products.
The selection of Niadupet, Andhra Pradesh, and Rayong, Thailand, as the locations for these greenfield sites is strategic, taking into consideration the demand dynamics in the region and specific customer requirements. The move aligns with Birla Carbon’s dedication to proximity and responsiveness to customer needs, fostering stronger partnerships and enhancing service capabilities.
In addition to these new initiatives, Birla Carbon is progressing with previously announced brownfield expansion plans in Hungary. Furthermore, a post-treatment facility, aimed at expanding Specialty capacity at Patalganga, India, is also advancing as per the established plan. These endeavors collectively underscore the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of industry trends and customer requirements.
The company’s expansion strategy goes hand in hand with its Purpose, encapsulated in the mantra ‘Share the Strength.’ This commitment is not only customer-centric but also aligns with industry trends and Birla Carbon’s aspiration to emerge as the undisputed sustainability leader in the sector.
