Biome, a leading venture studio in India, has successfully completed the first close of its capital raise. The round saw participation from top-tier entrepreneurs and family offices, setting the stage for Biome’s mission to launch and scale high-impact startups through a hands-on, co-building model.
Prominent supporters in this round include industry pioneers such as BVR Mohan Reddy (Founder, Cyient), Prasad Yerneni (Founder, Ecoren Energy), and Abhinav Reddy (MD, GAR Corp), along with the family offices of Raj Phani (Zaggle), Aditya Vuchi (MediaMint), and the Phoenix Group. These strategic investors bring not only capital but also strong industry connections in infrastructure, enterprise, and innovation.
Biome has earmarked ₹100 crore to be invested over the next three years into ventures it will co-develop from the ground up. The studio selectively co-founds up to three startups a year, embedding its expert teams—comprising product leaders, growth strategists, and domain specialists—into each company from inception to scale.
Among Biome’s early ventures are Zoop.Money, a digital-first home loan platform redefining mortgage accessibility, and a stealth-mode AI startup based in the US, led by a globally recognised AI scientist. These ventures reflect Biome’s global ambition and deep-focus approach to venture creation.
Founded by a team of seasoned professionals including Srinivas Kollipara (ex-T-Hub), Madhu Poomalil (ex-DE Shaw and Arcesium), Kaustubh Patekar (ex-Oracle), and Zara nBhagwagar (ex-Anthill Ventures), Biome stands out for its builder-first philosophy. Unlike traditional investors, Biome actively leads ideation, product development, go-to-market strategies, and operational execution alongside founders.
