Rallis India Limited, a Tata Enterprise and a key player in the Indian agricultural inputs sector, together with Bio-Gene Technology Limited, an Australian company specializing in the development of next-generation insecticides derived from natural sources, have successfully completed the pilot-scale production of pre-commercial quantities of Flavocide®. This milestone marks a significant step forward in their collaborative efforts to bring innovative, sustainable insecticide solutions to the global market.

Dr. Gyanendra Shukla, Managing Director & CEO of Rallis India Limited, commented on the achievement: “Rallis has a long-standing tradition of agrochemical manufacturing and strategic partnerships with global clients. We are dedicated to advancing the development and commercialization of next-generation sustainable solutions in crop protection. Our successful collaboration with Bio-Gene in scaling up the production of their patented, nature-identical Flavocide® insecticide underscores this commitment. Although the business impact may not be substantial at this stage, we are eager to continue working closely with Bio-Gene to support the global rollout of Flavocide-based products in the coming years.”

Flavocide® is a nature-identical product derived from Flavesone, a naturally occurring compound found in certain eucalyptus species. Bio-Gene has developed a proprietary process to synthesize this molecule for commercial production. The intellectual property related to the synthesis of Flavocide® is fully owned by Bio-Gene.
