Biesse, a global leader in manufacturing woodworking machinery and integrated systems for processing wood, glass, stone, plastic, and composite materials, has achieved a major milestone by exporting 10,000 machines to more than 75 countries across six continents from its India facility.
This accomplishment reflects the strong international demand for Biesse’s premium products and services, as well as the company’s alignment with the “Make in India” initiative, which promotes the export of high-quality, locally manufactured machines to developed markets. Biesse’s success in India stems from its ability to integrate European technology, expertise, and skills within its Indian operations.
Biesse India produces high-standard machines that meet European quality benchmarks, reaffirming its commitment to excellence. Approximately 80% of the company’s total production is exported globally, underscoring its leading position in the industry.
Sayeed Ahmed, CEO of Biesse India, commented on this achievement, saying, “Our manufacturing facility in Bangalore is the largest outside Italy and plays a crucial role in supporting both India and our global markets. We invest heavily in developing advanced manufacturing skills within our workforce to ensure we produce world-class machines. This milestone is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our team. We are set for exponential growth in the coming years and aim to expand our market share in other industries such as glass, stone, and advanced materials, becoming a leader in multi-material processing solutions.”
In addition to exporting machines, Biesse India also sends trained engineers to its global subsidiaries to support markets where India-manufactured machines are installed. The growing demand for high-quality, BIS-certified machines and factory automation in India, especially in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, is expected to further boost the company’s sales.
The Indian government’s policies to restrict substandard imports have created a favorable environment for Biesse’s high-quality, locally produced machines. Biesse is also expanding its product range and investing in research and development at its Bengaluru facility to address production challenges faced by customers around the world. The company’s technical product team continues to innovate and launch new projects to better serve its markets.
Founded in 1969 in Italy and listed on the Euronext STAR segment of the Italian Stock Exchange, Biesse is recognized globally for its expertise in manufacturing machinery for processing materials like wood, glass, stone, plastic, and composites. The company caters to industries such as furniture, construction, automotive, and aerospace.
With over 4,200 employees and a global network of four manufacturing campuses and more than 30 showrooms, Biesse operates in over 160 countries, with 80% of its consolidated revenue coming from international markets.
